Ishihimulwa village is in Bukumbi ward, Uyui district in Tabora region. It was established in 1975 as the result of villagization and Ujamaa villages policy in Tanzania, The village, then the forest reserve was very rich on biodiversity, people were put in danger leaving their lovely home suburb of Kinanula, Lungu, Mininga, Unabao and Isenga in Lungu village. People lived for a year depending on water brought by public cars from Tabora town because the place had no any water source, the villagers then dug ponds which gave them water after the rain source and grow to be the permanent sorce of water, these ponds are Ngombolo pond and Machali pond.
The population increase has caused pressure on Environmental resources ranging from land to water resources, the ponds which appeared to be the saviour to the poor Ishihimulwa dwellers now are scrumbled on by the increased population as the result they can't stand for the whole year. During the dry season the ponds are now drying as the result people are forced to awake at the mid-night and go on search for water. This act affect woman and girls the most.
The government and other environmental and community stakeholders should cast a noble eye to this village which is in Bukumbi ward, Uyui district in Tabora region. Much environmental conservation and management efforts should be directed there.
